A: I going to meet my girlfriend‘s parents for the first time tomorrow.
B: Just remember to use two hands when you pour her father a drink.
A: Why should I use two hands?
B: He might take it as an insult.

A: 난 내일 처음으로 여자 친구 부모님을 만나러 가.
B: 아버님께 술을 따를 때 꼭 두 손으로 따르는 것 잊지 마.
A: 왜 두 손으로 해야 해?
B: 아버님께는 무례한 행동일 수 있어.

 

insult란?
insult는 명사로서 ‘모욕(적인 말·행동)’, ‘무례한 짓(말)’, ‘모욕이 되는 것’이라는 사전적 의미를 가지고 있다. 어원은 ‘모욕’의 뜻을 지닌 라틴어 insilire에서 유래했다. 유사한 표현으로는 damage, hurt, abuse, injury 등이 있다.
