A: Jack says that your presentation was nothing more than a dog and pony show.

B: Jack? He’s a dinosaur. He wouldn’t recognize a new idea if it hit him in the face.

A: 존이 네 발표는 겉만 번지르르했다고 말하더라.

B: 존? 존은 고루해. 새 아이디어가 나타나도 알아차리지 못할 거야.

 

A dog and pony show: 정치 혹은 상업적 이득을 얻기 위해 사람들을 동요시키거나 납득시키기 위해 짜여진 과도한 공연, 발표, 이벤트. A dinosaur: 맡은 지위나 자리에 비해 너무 나이가 들었다고 생각되는 사람. Wouldn‘t know (something) if it hit him in the face: 너무나 명백한데도 알아차리지 못한다는 뜻.
