A: It’s a beautiful day. It will be summer in no time.

B: Remember, one swallow does not make a spring.

A: 날씨가 정말 좋다. 곧 여름이 오겠지.

B: 제비 한 마리가 왔다고 여름이 온 것은 아니란 것을 기억하렴.

‘제비 한 마리가 왔다고 여름이 온 것은 아니다’라는 표현은 ‘어떤 일을 하나만 보고서 성급하게 속단하지 말라’는 은유적인 표현으로 쓰인다.

one swallow does not make a spring 제비 한 마리가 왔다고 여름이 온 것은 아니다-Swallows are migratory birds that leave in the winter and return in the spring. However, just seeing one swallow does not mean it is spring.
